Sverrir Gudnason to star in ”The Girl in the Spider’s Web”

It’s official.
Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason has been cast as Mikael Blomquist in ”The Girl in the Spider’s Web”.
The actor’s agent Annika Kildén confirms to Aftonbladet that the ”Borg/McEnroe” star has landet a major part in the upcoming movie ”The Girl in The Spider’s Web”.
”But we can’t say more than that” Kildén tells Aftonbladet.
Earlier today Variety reported that Sverrir Gudnason had landed the role as Mikael Blomqvist. Now for the first time, Aftonbladet can confirm the rumours.
Popular character Blomqvist has previously been played by Bond actor Daniel Craig (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, 2011), and Michael Nyqvist, who starred in the Swedish Millennium trilogy.
Sverrir Gudnason now joins Claire Foy in the cast of the upcoming movie. The “The Crown” actress has previously been cast as Super hacker and Blomqvist’s love interest Lisbeth Salander.
”The Girl in The Spider’s Web” will be directed by Fede Alvarez. The film is scheduled to be released on October 19, 2018.
